A small art museum but a great way to pass some time! The staff are welcoming and well informed about the artwork found here. I went while the yearly art competition was on and got to see lots of different pieces from a range of artists and I handed in my vote of which piece of art struck me the most. I hope my vote reaches the artist and they can take something away from it!

Clever mix of old and new. Tea shop a great use of space around the stairs

Went to see the Victoria Wood exhibition - sad to think she's gone, especially so young - poignant, interesting & enjoyable, although the video was of poor quality. The museum itself is an impressive building.

Been a few times to this excellent arts museum in the town centre. Always something new to interest the eye. Varied and rolling exhibitions and art work every time. Very good local artist work features in the shop and Tina's caf is a really good old fashioned tea room gem. Friendly and helpful staff always on hand to chat. Free entry of course. Well worth a visit and it's very close to the bus and metro stop too.

I went to Bury Art Museum specifically to see the Victoria Wood exhibition. It was absolutely fantastic. It's only a couple of rooms, but they're packed with memorabilia from throughout her career, and there are excellent packs of information explaining what each exhibit is. It was so moving to see some of my favourite Victoria Wood scenes and sketches written in her own hand. I'll definitely be back because I'm sure to have missed something. And while I'm there, I'll definitely take in more of the museum. Oh, and the gift shop is a little gem!
