Totally discust in the way my daughter looked on my visit today she has a real bad infection in her arm (which she had before she came here ) the smell was totally awful I couldn't sit with her the smell was that bad the dressing was wet with the infection, I asked when it was last changed I was told yesterday I called and repoted it after my visit at 2pm called back at 8pm to ask if a doctor had seen her and I was told they are still waiting for the doctor to arrive , really worried about the care at this hospital
Primrose Ward is a truly awful and dangerous place for vulnerable children/adolescents. Staff are unprofessional and inexperienced and most have no regard for patients mental or physical health. Management are solely concerned about making money off NHS patients and use their least restrictive policy as an excuse to reduce workload. I filed complaints time and time again but most instances these were ignored and the only time I got a chance to speak to the ward manager about my concerns I was challenged, humiliated and not allowed time to speak so they destroyed what I had written down on a complaints form. Examples of neglect and mistreatment that I suffered personally include (but are not limited to): being left alone with a ligature round my neck for over half an hour whilst I was supposed to be observed every 3-7 minutes. Staff refusing to intervene whilst I pulled out a whole head of hair until I was bald. Staff calling me vulgar, silly and nasty and spreading confidential information to other patients. Being given wrong medication on several occasions and head injuries thatve left me with cognitive and memory complications. There are other experiences that feel too painful to share to the public and Im sure others have suffered worse whilst detained here but I strongly doubt these cases will be fairly investigated (not by Cygnet certainly) until a tragedy occurs. Your loved one would stand a better chance of recovering in a bin bag than this place and quite possibly could leave in a much worse state than they arrived.
My daughter is still in here she was on wizard to begin with she was on there for about 5 months with no improvement what so ever more than one staff member calling her a lier telling her she does not hear voices etc iv complained and complained and nothing gets done the doctor was completely useless and really didn't have a clue along with the psychologist wrong information gets passed around once 1 thing is mentioned they just focus on that 1 thing and that's there answer not willing to look into other things fails to keep parents updated on meetings etc oh and does not want to listen to what the parents are saying and take on board other factors I really didn't find this ward very helpful for my daughter and she needed more care than she was recieveing some staff was ok 2 exceptional ones that went above and beyond for her. She has since been moved to buttercup recently so yet to see how that goes but seems better all ready doctor and staff seem like they want to listen and work on the same page as me where I wasn't getting that on wizard
It used to be called Alpha Hospital, Bury. A medium and low secure mental health independent hospital. It also provide mental health services for patients with hearing impairment and most of the staff at this service has at least level-1 qualification in British sign language (BSL). Located away from busy traffic to a country side which provide quite environment for patients.
A very warm welcoming hospital. We visited our daughter yesterday after been admitted last week. Last week and this weekend we have found everyone to be very helpful, caring and friendly. Our daughter is in good hands and with people who care.
