Used Pennine Vets since they opened (currently have 6 cats registered). Booked no 7 in for dental work - his extractions never healed, sent home with medication a few times. Last visit another vet at Pennine said my cat would be in extreme pain and not recover - I took him back home to say his goodbyes, then 2 hours later he was put to sleep. I now need to take another cat and am extremely nervous about taking him. Personally, since Ian left I have little faith/trust. Very quickly, before this incident, I took one of my cats in for a hematoma op on ear, when back home he kept shaking his head constantly, rang vets,they said its normal because of the restrictive collar he had to wear. He then went in for his post-op check up - they had only left a cotton wool ball in his ear in error - then had the gall to charge me for some antibiotics for this! I am still annoyed with myself for not saying these should have been given free as a goodwill gesture as was down to their negligence!
Staff are knowledgeable and very friendly.
This is the only vets I'd take my little doggie to. It's run by zoologists so they really know what they're doing and can deal with more exotic pets than a run of the mill vet surgery can. Prices are average and the staff are wonderful.
Really friendly staff and knowledgeable vets make this the perfect place to take your portly pets. I used these when my bearded dragon was not well because they're the nearest exotic pets veterinary to me. They did not disappoint and the medication that was provided did the trick so he is back health and happy. Cannot recommend any more highly.
