Lovely place, good atmosphere, food was okay, it didn't quite live up to expectations though, maybe due to being Christmas, late in the day and being very busy. I was really disappointed with dessert. The treacle tart was so hard I couldn't eat it.
Food was exceptional. Steak night on Thursday. Sides a little expensive. 3.50 for minted mushy peas.
Although the food was great the service didn't back it up. It took 20 minutes before I had to ask someone to come and take our order...plates were not cleared from the table and all in all I got the feeling the staff couldn't really be bothered dealing with our table of 9
Nice but not special food! May have been our Sunday lunchty choice! Good service! Good atmosphere!
As ever, a lovely meal in one of the best pubs in the area. Great service, the manager went out of his way to help. Highly recommend the Chocolate Mousse!
